TRAINING
'Drills' are the way of ensuring that tasks are perfomed 'by the numbers' in a certain way. Each member of the crew knows what has to be done and who should do it. These standard drills are taught from the fire service DRILL BOOK (it's in the Watchroom). Once past the training school (recruit) phase experienced firefighters know how to achieve these tasks and automatically 'fill in' any position or number they can see needs to be done in order to complete the task.
TAC-EX
Occasionally watches go out of the drill yard in order to carry out drills and procedures in more realistic environments. These are called Tactical Exercises and the location usually dictates the type of operation. In this case we have a high rise incident where fire has occured in the very top floor of Amalfi Tower at Gilley Law (see Station Area Map in the Appliance Room). Two workmen were last seen in the roof space and the automatic fire alarms have activated. The only access is through a hatch on the top floor level which leads to the roof through the lift motor room.
